How To Sell More E-Books

If you have written an E-book and tried selling it, you probably would have already found out that it is not that easy to get people to buy your E-book. Having finished your E-book is only half-way through the work.

The second half, getting people to notice your E-book and making money out of it, is an equally, if not the more, important task but is often times neglected by E-book writers.

They thought that once they finished the writing, they can sit back, relax and just watch the money come in.

While it may be a challenging task, marketing an E-book, need not be so hard. A lot of marketing tools are available at your disposal.

There are also strategies you can use to get the most benefit out of your E-book, whether you are just planning to write one or already have one stored in your hard drive.

Look at it as a long-term project. As in any business activity or money-making endeavour, you have to have a clear strategy. It should be clear to you from the start, why you even have to write one.

If it is to make money, it should be obvious to you that you will not get rich with just one E-book. Even in traditional book writing, very few authors have made a bestseller out of their first or just one book.

Before you decide to create your first E-book, you should already have ideas about your second book, and the third, and so forth. Think beyond the E-book. Look at your E-book from a business point of view.

As a businessman having an E-book as your primary product, you should start thinking about other income streams that could flow from it.

What corollary products could you sell that would support your E-book sales and keep the income flowing? Perhaps a workbook, an audio file, a tutorial? -- just think beyond your main product.

Look for volume sales opportunities. Would you rather sell one or two books at a time or sell hundreds or thousands at a time?

Why not sell your books to corporations or organizations that have the potential of purchasing from you in bulk? You can package your E-book to cater to these markets.

Your E-book, especially if it is informative, is geared towards a particular industry or tackles a topic of wide interest, could be a great give-away in conferences, corporate events or gift-giving occasions.

Look beyond writing. If you become successful in your E-book writing career, you would probably have established yourself as an author and perhaps, as a celebrity.

People would come to you for they see you as an expert in your field. You may consider expanding your horizon to other fields, such as being a consultant, a resource speaker, or an educator.

There is money in these fields as well and these would be another income stream flowing out of your E-book. Partner with others. You can partner with others and collaborate in promoting or cross-promoting your products.

You should find partners who are not direct competitors yet in a field that is similar or closely related to yours such that a partnership or collaboration would be mutually beneficial.

You can craft strategies where both of you can benefit from each other's efforts and tapping each other's markets.
