Email Marketing - It's All About The Numbers
There is an ever increasing need to catch the eye of the customer. There are many new developments in the internet everyday, but the marketing principles is relatively the same as it was earlier. People will take their own sweet time to arrive at a decision regarding a product or service.
For this reason, frequent contact with the customers is needed to get a positive response. As frequent contact has become a necessity to influence a customer, you can resort to utilizing an autoresponder to create and send emails at regular intervals to your customers.
These emails help in keeping them aware of your product or service and nudge them to buy it. But, while using autoresponders care should be exercised in selecting the right contact lists. If the same email is sent to multiple people, many of them may just discard the email without even bothering to open it.
There are many ways to generate the right kind of lists. One good way is to ask your customers to sign up for a newsletter that will keep them updated about your products and services.
This is different than requesting people to grab a gift offer where the people are just interested n the gift and not in receiving regular emails from you.
For the above reasons, you need to properly segregate customers according to their needs and interests. So, within your mailing lists, you will have different sets of people in different lists, for example, people who wish to subscribe to your newsletter in one list while people opting for one-time offers in another.
Even the content that goes out to the customers must be customized to suit the needs of the people in the lists. An important thing to remember is not to go on and on about your product.
What needs to be concentrated upon is to keep the necessities of the customer in mind and keeping them informed rather than only promoting the product.
Customers may just leave you for no rhyme or reason. You may lose valuable customers if the content that you are sending out through your emails is drab and dreary and does not catch the attention of the customer. So, the content should be created keeping in mind the interests of the people in your lists.
If you want to talk about your product, do so but make it appear how it meets the specification and requirements of your customer so that it holds their interest to read through whatever you want to say.
Starting from the word "Go" you need to keep the email interesting until the very end. The title of your email plays a very crucial role. It is believed that a catchy title is very essential to entice the customer and force them to read through the article.
One such method to write a very interesting title to catch the attention of your customers is to mention offers that you are providing within the title. This is used in many email titles and many of them have had success by using these kinds of titles in their emails.
But, when a customer begins to receive emails repeatedly mentioning offers, it may start to lose its charm. Many a times, they are put off by the fact that these offers have a catch in them and such emails are totally ignored or discarded without an attempt to read them.
So, you could do the same thing but with a twist. You can change the words of the titles to make it sound more interesting but in effect carry the same meanings. By using a little bit of creativity, you can definitely bring out good ideas and use them in your titles and enjoy the fruits of doing so.
The last step is to test the email in all ways. You can try alterations in the titles, content and in the intervals in which they are sent. You can try doing these to various test groups and try the variations on a set of people.
Then, try and assess your success by checking which group read the mail and responded to it. Then you can try utilizing that particular mail to the entire group of people in that particular list to see whether the same thing works.
